What's on Facebook's Mind?

My social Network on Flickr, Facebook, Twitter...Image by luc legay via Flickr

Facebook is morphing into Twitbook.

The leading social networking site announced yesterday it is ripping a few pages out of Twitter's playbook in an attempt to remain competitive with the popular real-time social messaging service.

Facebook's makeover, copying key features of Twitter, includes speedier status updates and profile page changes that blur the distinction between public and private pages and connections.

Oh, and there's a new status update box, too. No longer will you tell your pals "What are you doing right now." The new operative question is, "What's on your mind?"

What's on my mind is how the lifespan of many Internet media features is best measured in nanoseconds.
